Larsonite, also known as petrified bog wood or Gary Green Jasper, is a unique type of petrified wood found near McDermitt, Nevada. It's characterized by its vibrant colors (blues, greens, tans) and well-preserved wood patterns, formed when volcanic ash and debris covered wood between 11-15 million years ago, halting decay and allowing minerals to replace the wood. Beyond its geological origins, Larsonite is valued for its grounding and healing properties, often used in spiritual practices for grounding, emotional balance, and connection to nature.
